Bijna dertig jaar geleden kwam de hammered dulcimer\, oftewel het hakkebord op zijn pad. Dit voelde meteen als liefde op het eerste gezicht\, of beter gezegd: ‘gehoor’. Met dit bijzondere instrument combineert hij ritmisch spel met melodieuze composities en geeft hij een verrassende draai aan zowel traditionele als populaire nummers.In zijn beginjaren richtte Bill zich vooral op Keltische en oldtime muziek\, maar gaandeweg groeide zijn passie voor het componeren van eigen melodieën. Dit resulteerde in een soloalbum en later de cd Waterbound\, een samenwerking met gitarist Kevin Lockhart.Enkele jaren geleden richtte hij de Michiana String Collective op\, een groep muzikanten die regelmatig optreedt in zijn regio.Bill wordt begeleid door de getalenteerde Nederlandse muzikant René Slieker\, die al veertig jaar de snaren beroert. Hij is een rockgitarist die tevens mandoline speelt in een bluegrassband en slidegitaar in een bluesband. \nEnglish: \nAmerican musician Bill Bosler has been a passionate percussionist since his youth. Almost thirty years ago\, the hammered dulcimer came his way. This immediately felt like love at first sight\, or rather: ‘hearing’. With this special instrument\, he combines rhythmic playing with melodic compositions and gives a surprising twist to both traditional and popular songs.\nIn his early years\, Bill focused mainly on Celtic and old-time music\, but gradually his passion for composing his own melodies grew. This resulted in a solo album and later the CD Waterbound\, a collaboration with guitarist Kevin Lockhart.\nA few years ago\, he founded the Michiana String Collective\, a group of musicians who regularly perform in his region.\nBill is accompanied by the talented Dutch musician René Slieker\, who has been playing the strings for forty years. He is a rock guitarist who also plays mandolin in a bluegrass band and slide guitar in a blues band.
